Sisters Kate and Alex Holmwood,

(daughters of Susan Holmwood)

1978 and 1980, close in age,friendship, method and aspirations.

Each possess their own individual qualities that bind

together to create their distinctive style.   

Each have experienced Sydney city living as well

as the Australian country life, back and forth since

a young age. This is evident through their

inspirations; combining slick edges with the honesty

of rawness. The calling to experience other cultures,

creations and methods, took Kate and Alex on a

treasured adventure that opened their eyes to

understand the importance of noticing, appreciating

and nurturing what you have. This led the girls to return

home and become further involved with their mother’s

shirting company that has now been established in

Australia for 20 years. The Susan Holmwood classical

shirt designs made in Sydney, from the finest Italian

fabrics will always remain of traditional style.

This style is to be enhanced rather than altered with

the new neck tie designs by Kate and Alex.

This creation along with the new line of men’s shirting is

under the Susan Holmwood company umbrella with their

own label Holmwood and Holmwood.

Kate and Alex have a passion to drive a staple existing icon

being the classical work or play shirt into a new realm with

a collection of neck tie accessories that add interest to

the existing garment. Through a range of fabrics, materials,

colours and styles they are creating a true development on

the optional everyday or dressier scarf.
